Yea~ kinda great program.. had an orientation camp for the newbies.. and showed me the 'biodiversity' of the university.
The ecosystem here is very complicated. Different kind of people, much more complicated than that of AMCISA (don't know the full name, but it's an organization for m'sia c.independent school). Learning academic writing at the moment, so I must try out some useful format in writing report or whatever that would be published. First, I'm gonna try out the 'bullet' form.
biodiversity in the SPS community:
- Seemingly smart but arrogant: A singaporean guy, from Junior College for sure. Quite knowledgeable, especially in science, but he'd never know what is humility. I joined this program out of my own will, and that orientation camp too, therefore I participated in every activity planned joyfully; the Sing. guy could just say he doesn't wanna do such stupid thing, and start making everything to progress faster. That was actually a stupid self-introduction session, but they do it in pairs, and your partner would be switched every 1 minute. I could see he's running out of patient that time, coz he told me everything 'he thought I'd like to know' once he faced me, things like: his name, his major, his interest... gosh!! I never wanted to ask such questions... I didn't even ask those questions to the people I met before him, why would he be exempted? I tried my best to think of different questions to ask everyone I met(maybe just because I don't like answering same question), but everybody was asking me all those same questions, questions that the s.guy think I'd ask. I'm not pissed off... though, that is the second bullet~~
- Judge people with interest: One guy(perhaps not only one, he's just unlucky to have been met by me) judged people with their interest. I'm not saying that it's not right to find friends with similar interest field, but why would he want to say it out?? He asked things like those I mentioned, but he added one more thing after the answers: We can be friend, let's talk later (coz we were about to switch partner). Who would really wanna befriend a guy who 'claimed' to have the same interest as you? At least not me~:P P/S: He's from AMCISA too, that makes me sick~~
- Friendly, courteous, but a bit childish, haha: I apologize for saying him childish...:P. He's probably the best friend I have in SPS. He doesn't like to 'expose' himself, unlike the s.guy and the 'INTEREST-friendly' guy who like to show how good they are in their special field, coz WE stood outside the group when everybody was discussing how to make a protective shield to prevent the egg from breaking during the fall from about 2.5m height. I don't like crowd, and he doesn't like to grab people's great chance to be exposed. He acts childish, sometimes speaks the same way too, but he's very courteous, are all the christian the same? He's the only person I'm gonna mention his name, Benjamin, don't want the others' to contaminate this sacred place~
Just finished handing in a proposal. It's an experiment proposal, design a mini project to experiment on something(whatever idea). I had 3 ideas at first, I worked the hardest on the first, which I think the most feasable one, and then the other two. But at last, I think I worked them equally hard. However, until last night 2am only I discovered some mistakes in the last 2 ideas... and I had to hand it in today before noon. Having run out of idea, I went to sleep, haha~~ This morning, I editted one of the two last ideas, and handed in 2 proposal (we can hand in however many we want), dismissed another. The first idea is one that I had for long time, so I worked on it once I got that homework. But for the other two, I just thought of them after getting that homework, so they were started from ground 0. I read a lot of books about them, but eventually those work were proved futile... now I know how hard it is to produce some experimental work, especially when deadline is stated.
This is the hard time I had in this program... I haven't done any of the homework for my curiculum..
